Anyone complaining in the comments section saying you shouldn't fingerpick a Martin dread have no idea what the hell they're talkin about. It's refreshing to hear actual music played on one for once. FS bracing, scalloped in a GE or authentic fashion on a dread is literally perfect for finger picking. So was any other type of music, finger picked or not. I love finger picking my Martin. You ant to hear blue grass, go listen to one of the hundred boring other videos out there of it So annoying reading some of this nonsense. Dreads are the most versatile guitars out there. Including finger picking

have to get the slim PUPs that have a adjustable pole screws to dial in each string . . . you'd think National Reso, being national reso would realize that but if you have to use the slim pu with no adjustable poles, can use heavy gauge electric strings, and use a spacer to adjust . . . you can use a shims and clay to hold it while dialing in the height, then use the tape.

noticed that the cone sits on a ring of cork...?? the new ones have nothing like that....my style o had rust on the cone support ring....NATIONAL ignored my pleas for help even though it was still under warranty so be vary wary ...it was a very expensive lesson.....NATIONAL DO NOT HONOUR THEIR WARRANTY.

If you buy a Style O.....check out that it does not have rust on the cone support ring....( I have photos) National will not help even though mine was still under warranty....NATIONAL wanted nothing to do with it........a very expensive lesson learnt...DO NOT EXPECT NATIONAL TO HONOUR THEIR WARRENTY.

Did you leave it outside? How on earth did it rust? These are very expensive instruments that should last several lifetimes if taken care of! I’d highly recommend you learning how to properly maintain your instruments before complaining about the company not honoring something that is your responsibility to care for!

I have a doulian with a C289 serial on the head stock. Stamped f holes, not rounded. Fret board was sort of a rubber like thing that was replaced with ebony. The rest of the guitar is all original. Was wondering if you would know what year it was made and what the value would be? Not ever planning to sell , but was just curious.

Did the 33 have a flocked soundwell? I was fortunate enough to acquire a 33, and when I disassembled it to clean it, I discovered the flocking in the soundwell. I researched it and found they only did it for a couple of years. It makes the timbre of the instrument a little more mellow. Pretty amazing how subtle changes affect sonic differences from guitar to guitar.
